Pekanbaru, 15 November 2018 – PT. Chevron Pacific Indonesia (PT. CPI), selaku Kontraktor Kontrak Kerja Sama (KKKS) dari Pemerintah Indonesia, akan melaksanakan pekerjaan perawatan dan perbaikan pipa penyalur migas di Kecamatan Bukit Kapur, Dumai. ’’Berdasarkan hasil inspeksi terakhir dan kajian tim teknis internal, kami telah mengidentifikasi sejumlah titik yang memerlukan perawatan dan perbaikan segera. Langkah proaktif ini terutama ditujukan untuk meminimalisasi risiko terhadap keselamatan masyarakat dan perlindungan lingkungan di sekitar jaringan pipa migas,’’ jelas Wahyu Budiarto selaku SVP Policy, Government, and Public Affairs (PGPA) PT. CPI.

PT. CPI telah berkomunikasi dengan sejumlah pemilik bangunan dan berkoordinasi dengan pihak terkait lainnya untuk menertibkan pondok-pondok semi-permanen yang berdiri tepat di atas pipa penyalur migas. Hal ini perlu dilakukan karena risiko tinggi terhadap keselamatan para penghuni atau pengguna pondok tersebut. Setelah di Dumai, perawatan dan perbaikan pipa akan dilanjutkan ke titik-titik lain di sepanjang jalur pipa penyalur migas.

Saat ini terdapat bangunan dan perlintasan kendaraan tak resmi yang dibuat dengan cara menimbun pipa tanpa memperhatikan faktor keselamatan dan kondisi pipa terdekat. ’’Kalau pipa terus-menerus dilindas kendaraan, ini sangat berisiko bagi masyarakat dan lingkungan sekitar,’’ jelas Budi. Dalam beberapa kejadian, pipa migas terkoyak akibat dilindas atau ditabrak kendaraan berat.

Keberadaan dan kelancaran operasi migas memberikan kontribusi penerimaan keuangan daerah melalui Dana Bagi Hasil Migas. Sinergi dari PT. CPI, pemerintah daerah, dan masyarakat sangat diharapkan untuk dapat meningkatkan investasi hulu migas dan menjaga iklim usaha tetap positif.
