press release PT CPI grants use license on 123 IT applications supporting operations
approaching the rokan block handover
Jakarta, June 2, 2021 –To support the smooth transition of Rokan Block, PT. Chevron Pacific Indonesia (PT CPI) has agreed to license the use of 123 information technology (IT) applications to Pertamina Hulu Rokan (PHR) as the next operator. These applications are vital in supporting the digitization of oil and gas operations and in running the Rokan Block operation efficiently.
"Information and Data Technology is one of the main components in the Rokan Block transition process. Therefore, the transfer to the next operator must be done carefully and systematically so that the Rokan block operations continue to run without technical interruptions during the handover on August 9," explained Albert Simanjuntak as Managing Director of Chevron IndoAsia Business Unit &President Director of PT CPI.
Almost all IT applications used by PT CPI will be granted to PHR. These applications are used for real-time monitoring of oil production and transportation, monitoring of well conditions and drilling rig activity, Duri steamflood operation, partner management, procurement management of goods and services, and others.
In April, PT CPI and PHR signed an agreement to activate Rokan Transition Network (RTN), an intermediary network used to move PT CPI applications. PHR will be able to access RTN to install and perform commercial application tests. PT CPI supports the preparation of all applications that are licensed to use to PHR in order to run properly before Rokan Block handover. Currently more than 80 applications have been completed in RTN.
In addition, PT CPI is also working intensively with PHR to transfer data into IT systems/applications that will be needed after Rokan Block handover. "The parties involved are SKK Migas, PT CPI, and PHR, they work closely and have same spirit and commitment for delivering the safe, smooth and reliable handover ", said Albert.
Utilization of Shared Facilities
The success of the drilling program is an important part of efforts to maintain production levels in Rokan Block after handover. To ensure the availability supply of materials supporting the drilling program, PT CPI and PHR have signed a joint utilization agreement for state-owned warehouse facilities in Rokan Block on April 21.
With the agreement, PHR can start bringing and storing drilling support materials in warehouses managed by PT CPI in Duri and Dumai. These materials include pipes, conductors, casings, tubing, wellheads, valves, cables, and pumps.
Currently, a number of PHR materials have arrived at PT CPI storage warehouse in Dumai and other materials will follow. "Hopefully, after the handover date, the drilling program can continue without any disruption of material supply because PHR's materials are already available in the field," said Albert.
