Enhance Collaboration to Overcome Illegal Tapping and Theft of Operating Facilities
Pekanbaru, 1 November 2019 - Head of SKK Migas Representative of Sumbagut represented by the Head of the Operations Department Haryanto Syafri with the Executive Director of PT. Chevron Pacific Indonesia (PT CPI) Donald R. Stelling visit to the Riau Regional Police office on Wednesday 30 October 2019. Riau Regional Police Chief, Inspector General of Police. Agung Setya Imam Effendi directly received this visit accompanied by Dir. Reskrimum Kombes Pol Hadi Purwanto SIK, Dir Reskrimsus AKBP Andri Sudarmadi SIK, MH, Dir. Pamobvit AKBP Dolifar Manurung SIK, MSi and Dansat Brimob Kombes Pol Abdul Hasyim SH, Msi. While from PT CPI, Sukamto Tamrin General Manager of Corporate Affairs Assets and Security General Manager Akson Brahmantyo were also present.On this occasion, Haryanto Syafri and Donald R. Stelling expressed their congratulations on the inauguration of Inspector General Agung Agung Setya Imam Effendi to become the Riau Regional Police Chief on 3 October 2019. SKK Migas and PT CPI then gave a presentation on the oil and gas operations and their challenges.
Haryanto said that PT CPI is a significant contractor that supplies a quarter of the national production target in Indonesia. In carrying out its operations in order to meet these national targets, PT CPI encountered several obstacles, including illegal tapping and theft of operating facilities in the Rokan Working Area.
To support the security, there is a Security Cooperation Agreement (PKS) signed by SKK Migas with the Riau Regional Police in force since mid-2018. While the prevention and disclosure of theft and illegal tapping, a Riau-PT CPI Task Force has been formed since early May 2019.
"Since the activation of the PKS and the Task Force, the number of cases of theft of operating facilities in the Rokan Block region has decreased quite dramatically by approximately 80% from March 2019 to October 2019, which was also followed by a decrease in the impact of Loss Production Opportunity (LPO) by approximately 85% for the period the same one. "So we hope we will continue the assistance and support of the Riau Police Chief for security and disclosure of cases,"
PT CPI General Manager of Security Akson Bramantyo added that the cooperation between PT CPI and the Riau Police had been very good and thanked for the hard work of the Gakum Task Force led by Dir Reskrimum Kombes Pol Hady Poerwanto.
